This ledger slab is used as an altar. Original position was built into gable wall beneath window. Priest had his back to congregation. With changes from Vatican 2, the priest now faces the congregation and the fact that the gable wall around the altar was collasping, the altar was moved forward and rebuilt in its new location. All sketon remains were reinterred in the rebuilt wall beneath the window, their original resting place.
