The graveyard is in rural area, southeast of the town of Rathdowney.
Graveyard contains the site of a possible church and a rath.
A curved earthen bank divides the rath in two almost equal parts; the northern part contained the church of which there is no trace today; human bones were found in the southern division in 1889.
