Fleetwood Berry (1912 A), 3. He gives the age as 47 years but 37 seems a more likely interpretation of the numerals now visible. Maguire (1953), 127. "... The family of Blakeney formerly resided in Norfolk where they were in possession of considerable landed property and settled in Ireland during the reign of Elizabeth. The first Blakeney mentioned in Burke's Landed Gentry is John Blakeney, A.D. 1671 who married Sarah, daughter of Dudley Persse of Roxborough, Dean of Kilmacduagh. The family in turn married into the families of Ormsby, Browne, Taylor, Stafford, St. George, Ross Mahon, Dennis etc.". See also references accompanying No. 350.
