killed at The Battle of Castlecomer, 24th June 1798.
and buried in this churchyard.

his brother Paidin rua, United Irish leader
who was wounded in the same battle
Both were brothers of Fr Mogue Kearns
who was executed for his part in the '98 Rising
and is buried in Monasteroris Cemetery,Co Offaly
His first Cousins, Stephen and rodger Kearns
Ballycrystal,Bunclody Co.Wexford
were killed near Ardee, Co. Louth
and lie in unmarked graves there
also
First Cousins ,Brothers Michael and Mogue Kearns
Mogue was wounded at an encounter in Skerries Co. Dublin
and later came to live with Fr. Mogue Kearns'Parents in Kiltealy
