DOM COMITATIS PRVDE[N]TIAE PIETAT ISQUE LAVDIB ORNATV
Thomas Archer and Margaret Cranis mural plaque c.1617 A mural slab or perhaps part of a larger composite monument. Carrigan records its situation as being in the south transept (Carrigan 1905 iii, 93). Semi-circular in plan, comprised of three separate combined slabs. The inscription is in a recessed rectangular text panel on the middle slab. A smaller separate recessed text panel contains 'D.O.M.', which combines with Celtic-revival interlace motifs. There is a small rectangular notch in the top of the middle slab. The inscription in false-relief, Latin, Roman capitals was transcribed by Carrigan (1905 iii, 93) as: DOM COMITATIS PRVDE[N]TIAE PIETAT ISQUE LAVDIB ORNATV
