Notes:

John Rothe and Letitia Rothe c.1590 Mensa of altar-tomb or ledger slab. Rectangular slab with richly-foliated cross with fleur-de-lis terminals on a shaft that rises from a stepped base. Quarters of the cross contain mini replicas of main cross-head. Cross-head rises from a shaft which rises from a pillar-base. Streamers flank the cross-shaft. Latin black-letter inscription in false-relief occupies the dexter and top. This was transcribed by Carrigan (1905 iii, 95) as: HIC. JACET. JOANNES. ROTHE. ROBARTI. FILIUS. QUONDA[M]. BURGENSIS. OPPIDI. KILKENIENSIS. QUI. OBIIT. XXXX. DIE. MENSIS. SEPTEMBRIS. A.D. 1590. ET. LETITIA. ROTHE. EIUS. UXOR. QE. OBIIT. XXXX. DIE. MARTII. A
