Mural plaque of black marble, ground for an elaborate white marble slab containing the inscription tablet below a stylised portico. The tympanum of the triangular pediment contains a cartouche with the heraldic shield of the Despard family above a motto scroll now illegible. A cloth draped chest with bestial feet and a snake swallowing its own tail as a handle rests on the architrave of the inscribed panel. The chest is surmounted by a weeping willow? tree. The rectangular inscription panel is flanked on either side by volutes.
