Notes:

George was grandson to Richard Bolster of Aldworth and son to George senior who established the Curraghbower Estate in c.1815 . George senior was one of Sir Richard Griffith's early valuers for the Duhallow area. George junior  closed off the coach/butter road to Cork that passed beside his residence and had a new road opened  that is now part  of the Gortroe to Bweeng  road in c.1842 .He build Curraghbower corn mill in 1847 and ran a fertiliser manufacturing  industry from that premises also. He collected bones from many butchers and slaughterhouses throughout  Cork city and county to crush and add to the fertiliser. The Bolsters also had a corn mill, a boulting mill and a brewery in Gortroe in the first half of the 1800's. George junior  sold the estate to Eugene O Sullivan from nearby Lackendarragh in 1899.

As a peace commissioner George had an almost daily visit from Glantane police barracks by a messenger with dispatches and telegrams that required his signature.

Curraghbower ,to day, is synonamous with horse racing and a very successful stable is run from the premises.
