According to local lore two priests, both related are buried here. In all there are supposed to be twenty five priests buried in this graveyard as there was a retirement home for priests in Cappagh. Fr. Holland in his book " History of West Cork and the Diocese of Ross." names six of those priests.
1. Fr Thomas Connolly who was a priest of the parish during the reign of Charles 2 (1660 -1685) and lived in Cooldorroha.
2. His nephew, Fr. John Connolly who succeeded him in 1690.
3. Fr. Dl. O' Sullivan, a first cousin of the famous Fr. John Power and uncle of Fr. Timothy O' Sullivan
4. Fr. . Daniel O' Connell of Newmarket who was Parish priest of the parish and who died in 1825 at at the age of 95.
5. Fr. Timothy O'Sullivan, a first cousin of Fr. John Power, who died in 1843 at the age of 90 and is buried beside his great friend Fr. O' Connell. He was a nephew of Fr. Dl. O'Sullivan.
6. Fr. John Brown, born in Raheen in 1778 and who died in 1828. He was parish priest of Kilmeen at the time of his death.
