John Millar was son of James Millar & Bridget Tumulty born 1850. He married Mary Elizabeth Reddy, Shannonbridge in 1877. They were parents to eight children; Mary Josephine, Francis, Catherine, Norah Frances, Bridget, James, John, Maud Alice & Patrick Edward. 

John Senior was a farmer, publican & a member of Roscommon County Council from 1899-1914.

Their son Paddy Millar married Maura Beegan Oatfield, Cappatagle on then 29/11/1933 in Aughrim Church.  They had two sons Tony born 24th September 1934 & Gerry born 1936 & daughter Mary Ann Frances born 28/05/1938 & died two days later 30/05/1938 in Oatfield. Tony was an elected member of 16 + 17+ 18 Dail Eireann representing Galway South & East following the sudden death of his uncle Paddy Beegan. Tony was also a Publican and an Auctioneer. Tony Millar died 23rd January 1993 aged 56 years and is interred in Moore New Cemetery.

Catherine (Katie) Ward was daughter of John Millar & Mary E Reddy. She married Michael Ward from Falty between 1906-1910 (Source: Ancestry ship records). They had four children in Boston. Michael died on the 25th April 1933 & Katie died on the 18th May 1943. Both were interred in St. Joseph's cemetery, Boston. *Katie's name is on the Moore headstone but she is not interred there*
