Mary Russell 1880-1963, nee Burns / Byrnes, daughter of Patrick  Byrnes & Hanora Foley of Duntryleague, Co. Limerick, married William Russell 1870-1928, son of Oliver Russell & Hanora Tierney of Ballylanders, Co. Limerick on Aug 18th 1900 in Knocklong RC, Co. Limerick.

Children born to them  in Ballylanders included Nora Mary Russell 1901, Mary 1903, Ailbe 1906-1957, Margaret 1908 -1972 & Johanna 1909-1965.

Mrs Mary Russell 1880-1963, was an active member of the Ballylanders branch of Cumann na mBan during the War of Independence 1919-1921 and the Civil War 1922-1923.

Nora Mary Russell 1901 - . Emigrated to the US in Oct 1923. Married Timothy Joseph Hurley in the Bronx, New York in Sep 1926.

Mary Russell 1903 - . Also emigrated to the US. Married Timothy Kelly in New York in 1930.

Ailbe Russell 1906-1957. Also spent sometime in the US before returning to Ireland. A bachelor. Address recorded as Ballingarry, Garryspillane, Co. Limerick when he died in St Josephs Hospital Limerick of cardiac failure on Mar 5th 1957.

Margaret Russell 1908-1972.  Also spent sometime in the US before returning to Ireland . She married Michael O’Shea 1911-1972 of Castlefarm, Hospital, Co. Limerick on May 10th 1931 in Ballylanders RC. Both died in the UK.

Johanna Russell 1909-1965. Married John (Jack) Bourke on Sep 7th 1930 in Ballylanders RC. She died of cardiac failure in Ballylanders on Apr 12th 1965.
