Charles Harward Butler was son of John Butler, 17th Earl of Ormonde and Lady Frances Susan Elizabeth Wandesforde.  He firstly  married Lady Sarah Butler daughter of Thomas Butler 2nd earl of Carrick and Sarah Taylor  in 1812.  He secondly  married Lucy French daughter of Arthur French in 1842.
 
Lucy French  firstly married  Somerset Richard Butller 3rd Earl of carrick in 1833 and
became Countess of Carrick. She secondly married  the above Hon. Charles Harward Butler Clarke Southwell Wandesforde.
