Exact wording of epitaph:

Sacred to the memory of EMILY
Youngest daughter of EDWARD MITCHELL Esq of GORES GROVE
Who after a few days illness died in Dublin of small pox
on the 20th day of October 1838

Her afflicted Father has caused this monument to be erected
in testimony of her unaffected piety
tender devotion to her parents and of those
unassuming virtues which endeared her to all who knew her.
Her excellent and fondly attached mother ELISABETH MITCHELL
who had suffered much from long and painfull illness
was by Gods mercy spared the additional pain of lamenting
the untimely removal of her beloved daughter
having died a few hours before her.
The remains of both were deposited in the family vault
At KILDRINAGH in the adjoining parish on the same day.
