Here are interred the remains of John
Meares Grainger Esq. of Causetown who
dept this life on the 26 of June 1821 _______
esteemed and respected to his family and
friends he was endeared by his virtues
amiable and social qualities and upright
and highly cultivated mind to the poor he
was a liberal benefactor
In all his actions he had in view the great
end of Man's creation and in the full
confidence of obtaining through the
Divine Mercy that reward promised to
the good and faithful servant he
resigned his soul to his Creator
In this tomb also reposes the body of
Jane Wife of J.M. Grainger Esq. and
sister of Elias Corbally Esq. of Corballon
Hall. This memorial of their Virtues
And testimony of his affection and
respect for such incomparable
Parents has been placed by their son
