The following grave listings are the work of a small group of volunteers who over several weekends during September 2020, painstakingly logged and photographed every headstone at Templebreedy graveyard. This was done under the direction of John from the Historic Graves Project. Credit for this work must go to: Jason Byrne, John Fitzgerald, Finbar Heas, Cathal Lannin, Danny Morrissey, Eileen Murphy, Miceal Murphy, Ray O Keeffe, Anita O Riordan, Marion O Riordan, Brian O Shea, Ian Soulsby and Tom Swanton.
This work was carried out as part of a larger “Templebreedy Save our Steeple” project. The aim of this project is to ensure that the church ruins and graveyard remain a focal part of the local community for many years to come. Work on cleaning the graves began during the summer of 2020 clearing back the decades of overgrowth with larger structural work planned for the near future in consultation with the heritage office of Cork County Council.
