James Keane (1819-1912), son of Maurice Keane & Bridget Bohan , married Ellen Healy (1817-1887) in Emly RC on the 09-02-1855. Ellen was possibly a widow at the time of her marriage to James Keane as her maiden name was recorded as Riordan when their son Maurice Keane was born in Duncummin , Emly in May 1857 ?
Maurice Keane (1857-1934) married Bridget Maher ( 1867- ), daughter of Michael Maher & Mary Foley of Castlefarm , Hospital , Co. Limerick in Hospital RC on the 22-01-1887.
Children born to them at Duncummin , Emly were James Keane 1887, Ellen 1889, Michael 1891, Mary 1894, William Martin 1896-1969, John 1899-1974, Bridget 1901, Maurice 1903 & Thomas 1906.
William Martin Keane (1896- 1969) was principal teacher in Shronell NS , Co. Tipperary for many years and was president of the INTO in 1959. His wife , Maura , also taught in Shronell NS and she retired in 1968.
John Keane (1899-1974) married Matilda Ryan (1902-1987), daughter of Michael Ryan & Catherine O’Neill of Gurteen , Emly.
John (Johnny) Keane was a postman and a keen amateur photographer . An extensive collection of glass plate negatives that were taken by him survived and were on display for identification purposes in Emly parish hall for a while in the late 1980’s or thereabouts.
Thomas (Tom) Keane (1906- ) worked at Sarsfield’s creamery in Templebredon , Co. Limerick as a buttermaker. He lived in the house next door to Mike Nash on the Scragg road from the cross of Knockane in Templebredon parish , Co. Limerick .
