James McMahon, an R.I.C. constable, born in Co. Monaghan , married Margaret O’Connell (1834-1897), daughter of John O’Connell & Margaret Maher, in Emly RC on the 26-09-1852. A daughter , Mary in 1854 and a son William in 1860 were baptised in Emly RC.
McMahon children born in Kilfeacle, Co. Tipperary were Peter 1864-1869, John 1866 and Margaret 1867-1867 and Elizabeth 1868, was born in Lowergate, Cashel , Co. Tipperary.
James McMahon , a 73 yr old widower was living in Ballynahinch, Ballygriffin, Co. Tipperary in the 1901 census. He died there on the 18-04-1904.
His son, John McMahon, born 1866, married Mary Ryan of Tipperary on the 06-03-1905 in Tipperary RC and the family were living in Pubblehill, Ballygriffin, Co. Tipperary in the 1911 census.
Elizabeth McMahon , born 1868, of Ballynahinch, Ballygriffin , married Thomas Doherty do , on the 21-11-1903 and the family were living in Ballynahinch in the 1911 census.
