This family lived next door to James Higgins’s Hotel in Emly which later became the Golden Thatch, owned by the Mulhall family.

James Reardon (1829-1905), son of William Reardon & Mary Ryan , married Johanna Carroll (1828-1902) in Emly RC in 1854. Their children were Ellen Reardon 1855, Bridget 1857, Mary 1859, Anne 1864, William 1866 & Johanna (1869-1964).

Johanna Reardon (1869-1964), married Patrick Hennessy in Emly RC on the 19-01-1895. Patrick Hennessy, a painter , was born in Cullen, Co. Tipperary in 1872 to parents James Hennessy , a tailor and his wife Mary Lovett. Patrick Hennessy, like his father-in-law, James Reardon , became an egg dealer .

Children of Patrick Hennessy & Johanna Reardon were Mary Hennessy 1897, James 1897, John 1898-1966, Johanna 1899, William 1901, Lucy 1902-1902, Patrick 1903, Dennis 1904, Annie 1905, Kathleen 1909 & Timothy 1910.

John Hennessy (1898-1966) married Mary O’Carroll and their daughter Mary Ann , known as Marian (1929-2013) married John O’ Kelly (1934-1980), son of Ailbe O’Kelly & Lucy Crowe of Drumcomogue, Emly. Marian's sister Breda Kelly, nee Hennessy died on Dec 21st 2024. Her obituary reads as follows :

Breda Kelly (née) Hennessy of Kellys Resort Hotel, Rosslare Strand, Co. Wexford, on December 21st, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Billy Kelly and loving mother of Mary, Anne, Bill, Vonny, John Paul and the late Liz and Kate; sadly missed by her family, sons-in-law Mark, Barry, Niall, Peter and Tiago, daughter-in-law Isabelle, her loving sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and the much loved team of Kellys Resort Hotel.
