William O’Meara 1883-1967, son of William O’Meara 1842-1919 & Mary Ryan 1843-1929 of Bartoose, Emly married Catherine ( Katie ) Daly 1893-1968, daughter of Michael Daly 1841-1928 & Mary Sheedy 1861-1933 of Ballycurrane, Emly on the 27th Feb 1922 in Emly RC.

Mary Sheedy was the daughter of Michael Sheedy of Doonmoon, Knocklong, Co. Limerick.

Children born to William O’Meara & Catherine ( Katie ) Daly included William 1923, Michael 1924, Maria 1925-1994, John 1926-1993, Timothy 1928, Patricia 1929-2025, Catherine 1931, Paschal 1932 & Josephine 1935-2017.

Maria O’Neill.( nee ) O’Meara 1925-1994 recorded here, was the wife of Pakie O’Neill of Main St, Emly. Pakie was an agricultural contractor. He owned the ballroom in Emly.

Josephine O’ Meara 1935-2017 was the wife of Jerry Murphy of Ballynaveen Emly. She was interred with her husband in Emly’s new cemetery. Her obituary reads as follows :

Josephine Murphy ( nee ) O' Meara of Ballynaveen, Emly, Co. Tipperary on the 5th February, 2017, peacefully at University Hospital Limerick. Wife of the late Jerry Murphy. Deeply regretted by her sons Charlie, Leo and Derry, her sister Patricia Ryan, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, nephew Willie O' Neill, nieces Noelle and Kathleen O' Neill and Olive Mann, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces, extended family, relatives and friends. 

Reposing on Tuesday evening at O' Leary's Funeral Home, Hospital from 5 o'clock with removal at 7 o'clock, arriving at St. Ailbe's Church, Emly, at 8 o'clock. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 11.30am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Her sister,Patricia Ryan, ( nee) O'Meara 1929-2025 married Jeremiah  ( Jerry ) Ryan 1928-2002, son of John Ryan 1891 -1959 & Margaret Hennessy 1901-1979. Patricia died on the 28th Jan 2025 and was interred at this memorial on the 30th Jan. Her husband Jerry is interred in Kilteely cemetery, Co. Limerick at memorial LI-KTLY-0161 on the historicgraves website. Patricia’s obituary reads as follows :

Particia Ryan ( neé ) O'Meara of Cromhill, Kilteely, Co. Limerick  and formerly of Bartoose, Emly, Co. Tipperary, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in the excellent care of the staff at St. Anthony's Nursing Home, Pallasgreen on the 28th January 2025, in her 96th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Jerry, sisters Marie, Josephine, Kathleen, brothers John, Willie, Tim, Michael and Paschal. Sadly missed by her loving family, John, Catherine, Jerry, Laurence and Willie.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, daughters in law, son in law, grandchildren, great grandson, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and friends. Patricia will be reposing at Davern's Funeral Home, Hospital, Co. Limerick  onWednesday 29th January from 5.30pm until 7pm. Funeral cortége arriving at the Church of Ss. Patrick &Brigid, Kilteely, Co. Limerick onThursday afternoon 30th January for Requiem mass at 2.30pm with burial afterwards in Emly Cemetery, Co. Tipperary
