ST. AILBE’S WELL.
NB. St. Ailbe’s Well, dedicated to Saint Ailbe, who is venerated as one of the four great patrons of Ireland. His feast day is 12 September. He is the patron saint of the Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly and Emly’s RC church is called St. Ailbe’s.
St. Ailbe founded a monastery at Emly and the Annals of Innisfallen recorded that he died in 528 AD,
