William Slattery, son of Patrick Slattery,  married  Mary Hourigan, daughter of Richard Hourigan  in  Lattin Cullen parish, Co. Tipperary on the 02-02-1857.

Children born to them included Patrick Slattery 1857-1923, Rev Richard Slattery 1859-1936, William  Slattery (1861-1945), Rev Edmond Slattery 1867-1935, Jeremiah Slattery 1869-1911, Rev John Slattery 1872-1952 & Mary  Slattery 1873-1968.

Rev Richard Slattery (1859-1936) was buried in the Church grounds in  St Ailbe's , Emly.

William  (Willie)  Slattery (1894-1920)  a  Lieutenant  in  the  East  Limerick  Brigade  of  the  I.R.A   was  brutally  murdered   by  Crown  forces  at  Roseboro ,  near  Tipperary  Town   on  the  30-12-1920.  

 He  was  interred  at this memorial  on  the  01-01-1921. 

Willie  Slattery  (1894-1920 )  was recorded  as a grandson  of   William  &  Mary  Slattery  ( nee Hourigan)  in  both  the  1901  &  1911  censuses   for  Lisobyhane ,  Emly.  Willie  was born on the 6th December 1894 in Ballinvreena, Emlygrennan, Co. Limerick to parents  William  Slattery (1861-1945) & Mary  Crowley (1868-1946), daughter of Richard Crowley & Ellen Mulcahy.

Mary Bridget Slattery (1897-1914) who is commemorated at this memorial was a sister of  Willie Slattery  (1894-1920). She died aged 17 of acute bronchitis.

Their brother, John Slattery 1905-1943 married  Ellen Mary (Eileen)  Quane 1906-1990, daughter of Patrick Quane & Norah Richardson of Kilmurry, Emlygrennan, Co. Limerick on the 11-02-1931 in St Josephs RC, Limerick City.

Other siblings of Willie Slattery  1894-1920 & John Slattery 1905-1943,  included Richard 1896, Patrick 1898-1951, Edmond 1899, Jeremiah 1901 & Rev Thomas Slattery 1908-1981

Patrick  (Paddy) Slattery 1933-1953 was a son of John Slattery 1905-1943 & Eileen Quane 1906-1990.

His brother, Thomas ( Tom ) Slattery 1936-2022 died on the 27th Dec 2022 and was interred at this memorial on Sat 31st Dec 2022. His obituary reads as follows :

The death has occurred of Thomas ( Tom ) Slattery of Lisobyhane, Emly, Co. Tipperary on the 27th December 2022, peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the tender care of St. Anthony’s Nursing Home, Pallasgreen, Co Limerick .

Tom was predeceased by his brothers Billy & Paddy. Sadly missed by his loving wife & best friend Mary, nee O'Donnell, his son Shane, daughter-in-law Shuin, adored grandchildren Sheena & Isabel,  his brothers John ( Ballinasloe ) & Eamon ( Cappamore ), sisters Mary Hourigan ( Lattin ), Sr. Noreen (LCM - Kilkenny) & Aileen Burke ( Emly ), sisters-in-law Mary & Sheila, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, kind neighbours & friends.

Reposing at Fogarty’s Funeral Home , Blind Street, Tipperary Town on Friday Dec 30th  from  6.00pm to 7.30pm. Arriving at St. Ailbes’s Church, Emly at 11.15am for 11.30am Mass on Saturday Dec 31st, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Tom Slattery's brother, John F 1934-2024, died on the 23rd May 2024. His obituary reads as follows :

The death has occurred of John F. Slattery of Aylevaroo, Moher, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway and formerly of  Emly, Co.Tipperary. John passed away peacefully in the care of Garbally View Nursing Home, Ballinasloe, on 23rd of May, 2024.

John will be deeply missed by his heartbroken and devoted wife Mary, his loving sons Evan (and Angie), Fergal (and Sarah), his 5 adored grandchildren, his great-grandson, brother, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, all his extended family, friends and neighbours.

He will repose in Grenham's Funeral Home, Ballinasloe on Sunday, 26th of May, from 4pm to 6pm. Private removal on Monday morning to St. Michael's Church, Ballinasloe, for funeral Mass at 11am, followed by cremation in Shannon Crematorium, Co. Clare
