NB. Mary Kinkead (1853-1931), born in Lackelly to parents Samuel Kinkead & Johanna Walsh , married John Clancy (1854-1940), son of Bartoose farmer Thomas Clancy and his wife Mary Connors in Emly RC on the 04-03-1889.
Children of John Clancy (1854-1940) & Mary Kinkead (1853-1931) were Norah Clancy ( 1890-1939), who married widower Patrick Moloney , son of Thomas Moloney of Drumcomogue, Emly in 1929 & Patrick Clancy (1892-1959) , who married Mary Keogh (1904-1974 ), daughter of Patrick Keogh in Emly RC on the 01-07-1931.
Patrick ( Paddy ) Clancy 1935-2022, son of Patrick Clancy 1892-1959 & Mary Keogh 1904-1974, died on the 26th Dec 2022 and was interred at this memorial on Thursday 29th Dec 2022. His obituary reads as follows :
Patrick (Paddy) Clancy of Cill Chais, Bartoose, Emly, Co. Tipperary, passed away peacefully at Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary on the 26th December 2022. Late Of Coakley's Hardware, Dock Rd, Limerick City.
Sadly missed by his loving brother John, sisters Bernie Bergin (Cashel), Kitty Power (Lattin), Ann Butler (Burncourt), Margaret Riordan (Emly), brothers in law Jim, Pat & Michael, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins ( the Keogh family of Rockchapel, Co. Cork), family, relatives and friends.
Paddy will be lying in repose at Davern's Funeral Home, Hospital, Co. Limerick on Wednesday 28th December from 3.30pm until 6pm. Funeral cortége will arrive at St. Ailbe's Church, Emly on Thursday 29th December for requiem mass at 11.30am, burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
His brother John G Clancy 1933-2025, died on the 18th Apr 2025 and was interred here on Tuesday 22nd April. His obituary reads as follows :
John G. Clancy of Bartoose, Emly, Co. Tipperary, passed away peacefully 18th April 2025 at Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary Predeceased by his brother Patrick ( Paddy ), mother Mary, father Patrick, infant siblings and nephew Colin Bergin.
Sadly missed by his loving family, sisters Bernie, Kitty, Ann and Margaret, brothers in law Jim Power, Pat Butler and Mike O'Riordan, nephews, nieces, cousins, family relatives, kind neighbours and friends.
John will be reposing at Davern's funeral home, Hospital, Co. Limerick on Monday evening 21st April from 5.30pm until 7pm.
Funeral cortége arriving at St. Ailbe's church Emly onTuesday morning 22nd April at 11.15am for requiem mass at 11.30am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
John & Paddy Clancy's sister Mary Bernadette ( Bernie) Bergin, nee Clancy 1934-2025, died on the 28th Jul 2025 and was interred in Rosegreen cemetery, Co Tipperary on Aug 1st 2025. Her obituary reads as follows :
The death has occurred of Mary Bernadette (Bernie) Bergin (née) Clancy of 'Hillview', Attykit, Cashel, Tipperary and formerly of Bartoose, Emly, Co Tipperary, on July 28th 2025. She passed away peacefully in the loving care of her family and the wonderful staff at St Mary’s Nursing Home, Galway. Bernie, beloved wife of the late Nicholas, mother of the late Colin and sister of the late John and Paddy Clancy. Sadly missed by her loving children Laurence, Pat, John, Norah, Diane and Louis, sons-in-law Brendan and Pat, daughters-in-law Creena, Frances, Ann, Pauline and Sinéad, grandchildren Lauren, Danielle, Donagh, Eoin, Cathal, John, Kevin, Siobhán, Liam, Conor, David, Kate, Leon and Charlotte, sisters, Kitty, Ann and Margaret, brothers-in-law, Jim, Pat and Mike, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Devitts Funeral Home, Cashel this Thursday evening from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Requiem Mass on Friday in St Thomas’s Apostle Church, Rosegreen, Co. Tipperary at 11.30am followed by burial in Rosegreen cemetery.
Colin Bergin, son of Nicholas & Bernie Bergin ( nee ) Clancy, died on the 28th Nov 2019 and was interred in Ballinacourty cemetery, Lisvernane, Co. Tipperary
