NB. Ellen (Helen) Fitzgerald  was the sexton of St. Ailbe’s  church in Emly.  Both she and her son James Fitzgerald died on the same day..

Helen's  daughter, Winifred  Fitzgerald  married  Thomas  Duhig, son of  Denis  Duhig  &  Mary  Treacy  of  Knocklong,  Co. Limerick  in  Emly  RC  on the 22-10-1903.

Thomas  Duhig was employed  as a coachman  and servant by  Canon  Maurice  Power  P.P  of  Emly.

Patrick  (Paddy)  Duhig  (1910-1978), son of  Thomas  Duhig  & Winifred  Fitzgerald, married  Margaret  (Maggie)  Ferns  (1914-1998), daughter  of  William  Ferns  & Bridget  Flynn  of  Hospital,  Co.  Limerick  in  1955.

Both, Paddy  &  Maggie  Duhig  served  as  Church sexton  in  Emly.
