Clashdrumsmith, Emly
Bridget Mulcahy (1865-1934), daughter of John Mulcahy (1828-1913) & Hannah Hayes (1834-1913) married John McGrath in Emly RC on the 25th Nov 1901. Their daughter Mary Agnes McGrath, born 20th Jun 1906 was the only survivor of four children born to them. The other three died in infancy. Mary Agnes joined the nuns and was known as Sr. Cecilia and resided at the Convent of Mercy, Longford.
Bridget McGrath , nee Mulcahy (1865-1934) was Principal of Emly Girl's School from 1908-1930.
Her brother ,Timothy Mulcahy (1867-1936), a teacher also, married Julia Hearne on the 25th Sep 1907 in Trinity Without RC, Ballybricken, Waterford.
Their brother , William Mulcahy (1871-1950) of Clashdrumsmith, Emly married Mary Ryan (Miller) 1874-1956) of Gurtavalla, Doon, Co. Limerick on the 2nd Feb 1915 in Doon RC. Children born to them were Hannah Cecilia (Una) Mulcahy 1916 & Margaret Mulcahy 1917-1981.
Margaret Mulcahy (1917-1981) married John Joseph Leahy (1916-1988), son of Michael Leahy & Mary Barry of Glenlary, Glenbrohane, Co. Limerick in 1951. Children born to them included Mary Leahy 1952, William 1953, Bridget 1954, Michael 1956, Edmond 1957 & Una 1958.
