John Hennessy married  Margaret Dawson on the 9th Feb 1869 in Glenbrohane RC, Co. Limerick. The three surviving children born to them at Glenlara, Glenbrohane were John Hennessy 1871, William 1873-1937 & Robert 1882.

William  Hennessy 1873-1937, married  Mary O’Sullivan in Knocklong RC, Co. Limerick on the 30th Jan 1904. Children born to them  included Margaret Hennessy 1904, John 1906, Patrick 1908, Mary 1909, Michael 1910-1969 ( of this memorial ), Ellen 1912, Johanna 1915 & Bridget 1918.

Michael  Hennessy  1910-1969, of Knocklong West, Co. Limerick, married  Ellen  Keane 1909-1978 ( of this memorial ), daughter of  William Keane & Bridget O’ Brien  of Hospital, Co. Limerick  on the 12th Apr 1936. Ellen's sister Margaret Keane 1911-1983 married Edmond ( Ned ) Crowe 1900-1982 of nearby memorial 0313

Remembered at this memorial also is their  son Thomas Hennessy 1944-1992, their  daughter  Bridget ( Breda ) 1945 - 7th Feb 1946 & their son William ( Bill ) 1939-2007.

Their son, Michael  (Mick ) Hennessy  1940- 2023, died in his 83rd year on Sunday the 5th Feb 2023 and was cremated at Shannon Crematorium, Co. Clare on Wed 8th Feb 2023. His ashes were interred in Emly's new cemetery on Sunday Mar 19th 20203. His obituary reads as follows :

Michael ( Mick ) Hennessy of Parkview, Emly, Co. Tipperary, died on the 5th February 2023, surrounded by his family at Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. Predeceased by his parents Michael & Ellen, brothers Bill & Tom & sisters Breda & Peggie.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Kathleen, nee Sweeey, by his sons Michael, Seán & Adrian, by brothers John & Patsy & daughters-in-law Ger & Amy, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren Veda, Evan, & Shea, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours & friends.

 Reposing at Fraser’s Funeral Home, Galbally, Co. Limerick  on Tuesday evening (Feb.7th) from 6pm-8pm. Mick’s funeral cortége will arrive at St. Ailbe’s Church Emly on Wednesday (Feb.8th) at 1.15pm for 1.30pm Mass, followed by creamation at Shannon  Crematorium  at 4pm.

His brother John Hennessy 1941-2023 died on the 29th June 2023 and was interred in Emly's new cemetery on Sunday 2nd July 2023. His obituary reads as follows :

John Hennessy of Oldtown, Hospital, Co. Limerick died on the 29th June 2023 at University Hospital Limerick. Sadly missed by his loving wife Hannah, sons John and David, daughter Debra, daughters-in-law Mary and Rachel, grandchildren, brother Patsy, relatives and friends.

 Reposing at O'Leary's Funeral Home, Hospital, on Saturday evening from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass will take place in St. Ailbe's Church, Emly, on Sunday at 11.15am. Burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
