Redmond  /  Edmond  Roche 1818-1905, son of James Roche & Honora Kenna, married Catherine  ( KateHealy 1830-1915  on the 28th Feb 1867 in Emly RC, Co. Tipperary.

Children born to them in Ballyvistea, Emly included Honora Roche 1867, James 1870-1929 & Mary1874-1959.

Mary Roche 1874-1959, married David Crowe 1872-1954, son of David Crowe 1846-1925 & Hanora O’Dea 1847-1915 in Emly RC on the 2nd Mar 1897.

Mary’s brother. James Roche 1870-1929, married Mary Joyce 1873-1946, daughter of William Joyce 1850-1916 & Bridget Ryan 1841-1914 of Knocklong, Co. Limerick on the 27th Feb 1906 in Knocklong RC.

Children born to them at Ballyvistea, Emly included  Redmond Roche 1907-1925, John  (Jack ) 1909-1985 & Christina 1911-2002.

Redmond Roche 1907-1925, died aged 17 of acute meningitis.

Christina Roche 1911-2002, emigrated to the UK where she pursued a career in nursing. She returned to her native parish to marry Clifford Anthony Casken 1904-1974 on the 25th Nov 1939 in Emly RC. She died in Worcester, UK on Apr 5th 2002.

John ( Jack ) Roche 1909-1985, of this memorial, married Bridget Ryan, daughter of William Ryan on the 15th Jun 1942 in Emly RC. Children born to them included Christina M Roche 1942, Ellen ( Nellie ) 1945-2020, Breda ( Bridget) 1946-2025, Mary 1948, Redmond 1949-1949 & James (Jimmy) 1951.

James (Jimmy ) Roche, born 1951, died in the UK. He predeceased his sister Ellen ( Nellie )

His sister Ellen ( Nellie ) 1945-2020 died on Nov 25th 2020. Her obituary reads as follows :

The death has occurred of Elllen Roche of Clondalkin, Dublin on November 25th 2020, peacefully, at TLC (City West) Nursing Home. Beloved mother of Imelda, and much loved nanny to Jade, Chloe and Lauren. Ellen will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her daughter, son in law Mark Rowe, grandchildren, sisters Mary, Breda ( Bridget ) and Christina, extended family and friends.

A private funeral will take place due to Covid restrictions. When current circumstances have passed we look forward to celebrating Ellen’s life with friends and extended family.

Ellen's sister Breda ( Bridget ) Roche 1946-2025 died on Dec 2nd 2025 at her residence in Duncummin, Emly, Co. Tipperary. Her obituary reads as follows :

The death has occurred of Bridget ( Breda ) Roche on Dec 2nd 2025. Predeceased by her beloved parents John (Jack ) and Bridget, her sister Ellen ( Nellie ) and her brother Jimmy.

 Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her devoted sisters Mary ( England ) and Christina ( USA ), nephews Barry, Jon and Liam Bellamy, nieces Karen Roche and Imelda Rowe, and their respective partners. Cherished great-aunt to Jonny, Ava, Jessica, Jacob and baby Beau, just three weeks old. Deeply missed by her extended family, neighbours, and many friends.

Especially remembered by her best friends, Phyl McInerney and Willie Joe Regan. Breda’s family owe Phyl a debt of gratitude for her generous help and support at this very sad time, especially as she too is grieving the loss of her dear friend.

Lying in repose in The Chapel of Peace, Fraser's Funeral Home, Galbally, Co. Limerick on Monday 15th December from 5.30 to 7pm. Reception on Tuesday 16th December into St Ailbe's Church Emly for Requiem Mass at 11.30am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. She was interred at the footpath side of this memorial.
