Daniel O’Meara married Johanna Hanly circa early 1860.
Children born to them at Bohercarron, Duntryleague, Co. Limerick included Cornelius O’ Meara 1860, Mary 1864, Johanna 1865, John 1867, Patrick 1868, Timothy 1870, Edmond 1872-1945, Catherine 1874, Daniel 1878, Bridget 1880-1880 & Bridget 1881.
Their father Daniel O’Meara died on Mar 21st 1918. He predeceased his wife Johanna.
Edmond O’Meara 1872-1945 of this memorial married Mary Anne Ryan 1873-1951, daughter of William Ryan (Corkman) & Bridget Power of Cloughaready, Templebredon parish, Co. Limerick on Feb 24th 1914 in Templebredon RC, Co. Limerick.
Children born to them were Johanna ( Josie ) O’Meara 1915 and William (Willie) 1917-1972. William (Willie) married Helen ( Nellie ) Burke 1928-2026, daughter of Tobias Burke 1895-2000 & Ellen Dawson 1893-1990 of Monemore, Emly. See Burke family memorial 0473 in this cemetery.
Helen (Nellie) O’ Meara, (nee) Burke 1928-2026 died at Bohercarron on Sun 14th Jun 2026 and was interred at this memorial on Wed Jun 17th. Her obituary reads as follows :
It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Helen ( Nellie ) O'Meara (née ) Burke of Bohercarron, Duntryleague, Co. Limerick, who passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Willie, daughter Mary Anne, sister in law Josie, sisters Mary, Peg and Breda, and brothers Toby, Ailbe, Paddy and Tommy.
Nellie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children Eamon, Helen (Caherdavin, Limerick), William (Br. Liam, Ennistymon), Margaret (Clerihan), Breda, Noel (Tipperary Town) and John (Craughwell, Co. Galway), daughters-in-law Kathleen and Gráinne, son-in-law Peter, grandchildren Billy, Julie, Ed, Kate, Sean, Eddie, Evelyn, Clodagh, Aoife and Tadhg, great-grandchildren Saidhbh, Molly, Saoirse and Cian, sister Lily Peters (Aherlow), brother Michael Burke (Emly), nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
Reposing at the Chapel of Peace, Fraser's Funeral Home, Galbally on Tuesday, 16th June, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Reception on Wednesday, 17th June, into the Church of Christ the King, Galbally, for Requiem Mass at 11:30am, followed by burial afterwards in Emly cemetery, Co. Tipperary.
