Owen ( Eugene ) O’ Brien 1813-1866, married Catherine ( Kate ) Harty 1817-1893 in Emly RC, Co. Tipperary on the 23rd Feb 1841.
Children born to them included Richard O’Brien 1841, William 1844-1928 of this memorial, Mary 1848, Catherine 1851, Thomas 1853, Margaret 1855 & Ellen 1858-1935 of this memorial.
William O’Brien 1844-1928 married Ellen Blackwell 1856-1906 of Cappamore, Co. Limerick on the 26th Feb 1895 in St. Saviour RC, Limerick City.
Children born to them at Chancellorsland, Emly were Kathleen O’Brien 1895-1955 & William 1897-1981.
William O’Brien 1897-1981 married Johanna ( Josie ) Ryan 1906-1994 , daughter of John Ryan & Norah Kennedy of Foilnman, Upperchurch, Co. Tipperary on the 9th Feb 1944 in Emly RC.
Children born to them were John O’Brien 1946-2025, William ( Liam ) 1947 -2024, Nora 1948-1948 & Edmond (Eddie ) 1951-2016
Edmond ( Eddie ) O’Brien 1951-2016, died on Saturday Sep 10th 2016. His obituary reads as follows :
Death of Edmond (Eddie) O'Brien of Bray, Co. Wicklow and formerly of Emly, Co. Tipperary on September 10th, 2016. Peacefully, at St. Vincent's University Hospital. Will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife Mary Kennedy O'Brien, son Seán, daughter Emma, sister Sr. Eleanor, brothers John and Liam, sisters-in-law Norah and Kathleen, brothers-in-law William and Matty, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Eddie will be reposing at his home, Glenthorn Estate, Killarney Road, Bray on Tuesday evening Sep 13th from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday morning at 11.30am in St. Fergal's Church, Ballywaltrim, Bray followed by interment in Springfield Cemetery Killarney Road Bray. .
Norah O'Brien ( 1952-2021), a daughter-in-law of William O'Brien 1897-1981 & Josie, nee Ryan 1906-1994 and wife of their son John O' Brien, died on the 12th Jun 2021. Her obituary reads as follows :
The death has occurred of Norah O'Brien (née) Ryan - Cooney of Bartoose, Emly, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Upperchurch, Co. Tipperary. Peacefully, in the loving care of Milford Care Centre, Limerick. Predeceased by her loving parents Tom and Eileen and her infant brother Conor; Deeply regretted by her loving family, husband John, sons Thomas and Joseph, daughter Mary, her aunt Jonie, sisters Mary, Eileen and Josephine, brothers John, Tom, Gerard, Michael, Pat and Martin, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews,cousins, relatives and many friends.
Requiem Mass in Emly RC on Monday, 14th June, at 1pm. Burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

Norah's brother - in - law, William ( Liam ) O'Brien died in his 77th year on Thursday 9th May 2024. His obituary reads as follows :
The death has occurred of Liam O'Brien of Churchtown, Dublin and formerly of Emly, Co.Tipperary
Liam, formerly of A.I.B, passed away peacefully after a short illness in the Blackrock Clinic with his family by his side. Predeceased by his brother Eddie, brother-in-law Brendan and sister-in-law Norah. He will be deeply missed and remembered with much love and affection by his beloved wife Kathleen, son Gareth, daughter Caroline, his cherished grandchildren Robbie, Darragh and Molly, daughter-in-law Ciara, son-in-law Tim, sister Eleanor, brother John, sisters-in-law Mary K, Sheila, Mary, Angela, and Anne, brothers-in-law Michael, John and Michael, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.
Reposing at his residence on Sunday 12th May from 4pm to 6pm. Removal on Monday morning 13th May to the Church of the Good Shepherd, Churchtown arriving for funeral Mass at 10am followed by burial at Mount Venus cemetery.
Norah O’ Brien’s husband John O’Brien 1946-2025 died on Thursday Oct 2nd 2025 and was interred at this memorial on Sat 4th Oct. His obituary reads as follows :
John O’Brien of Bartoose, Emly, Co. Tipperary, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Thursday October 2nd, 2025 at University Hospital, Limerick.
He will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his sister Eleanor, daughter Mary, sons Thomas and Joseph, sisters in law Kathleen and Mary, godchildren Caroline, Emma and Patricia, nieces, nephews, cousins, close neighbours and friends.
John is predeceased by his loving wife, Norah and brothers Liam and Eddie.
John will be reposing at Davern's funeral home, Hospital, Co. Limerick on Friday evening Oct 3rd from 5.30pm until 7pm.
Funeral cortége arriving at St. Ailbes Church, Emly, Co. Tipperary on Saturday morning Oct 4th for Requiem mass at 11.30am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
