Cornelius O’Dwyer, son of Michael O’Dwyer, married Kate Coughlan, daughter of Pat Coughlan in Templebredon RC on the 5th Feb 1883. Their ages at the time of marriage were recorded as 33 and 18 respectively.
Children born to them included Mary O’Dwyer 1884-1958, John 1886-1927, Patrick abt 1887, Bridget 1890-1981, Cornelius 1894-1986 & Michael 1897-1976. Patrick was recorded as being 14 yrs old in the 1901 census for Garydoolis, Templebredon, Co. Limerick.
Michael O’Dwyer 1897-1976, married Annie Lynch 1903-1997, daughter of pumpsinker Patrick & Anne Lynch of Rath, Abington, Co. Limerick on the 11th Feb 1923 in Murroe, RC Co, Limerick.
Their son, Cornelius O’Dwyer of this memorial died on the 21st Mar 2001.
His brother, Patrick ( Pakie ) O’Dwyer died on the 2nd Apr 2025 and was interred in Emly’s adjoining new cemetery. His obituary reads as follows :
The death has occurred of Patrick ( Pakie ) O’Dwyer of Ballinulty, Cullen, Co. Tipperary on April 2nd 2025, peacefully at Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel. Predeceased by his brother Cornelius and his sisters Kathy, Annie, Maureen, Bridie and Teresa.
Sadly missed by his loving wife Bridget, sons Aidan, Kevin and Joe, daughter Ann, brother Michael ( Mikie ), son-in-law Greg, daughters-in-law Aoife, Máire and Siobhán, grandchildren Oisín, Cormac, Clíodhna, Liam, Niamh, Cian, Megan, Conleth, Anisha, Aisling and Jack, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Whelan’s Funeral Home, Bansha Road, Tipperary Town on Friday evening 4th April from 5.30 pm until 7.30 pm. Arriving in St. Nicholas’ Church, Solohead, Saturday morning 5th April for Requiem Mass at 11.30 am with burial afterwards in Emly’s new cemetery.
