NB. The name ML. Beary is inscribed after the word Amen. This is possibly the name of the monumental sculptor but one cannot be sure, given that this family were known as Beary / Bourke.
The co-erector of this headstone, Michael Bourke, son of David Bourke of Coolboy, Emly, married Margaret Beary (1811-1873), daughter of Thomas Beary & Catherine Ryan of Ballyneety, Templebredon, in Templebredon RC on the 05-2-1840 and future generations of the family were known as Beary / Bourke, hence the initial B in their name, as can be seen in the adjacent t memorial 0228.
The inscription on the base of this memorial also appears on memorial 0228.
Children born to Michael Bourke & Margaret Beary, were as follows : Catherine 1841, David (1842-1907), John 1844. Thomas 1849 & Matthew 1853.
David Bourke (1842-1907), son of Michael Bourke & Margaret Beary, married Mary Coffey (1854-1920), daughter of Thomas Coffey & Julia Murphy of Lodge, Hospital, Co. Limerick, in Hospital RC on the 11-2-1885.
Children born to David Bourke & Mary Coffey were as follows : Margaret 1886, Michael (1887-1962), Julia 1890 and Mary 1892.
Michael Bourke (1887-1962), son of David Bourke & Mary Coffey, married Hanora (Nora) Hannon (1896-1971), daughter of James Hannon & Catherine Hayes of Ballinahow, Bruis, Lattin parish Co. Tipperary in 1927.
