Timothy ( Tim ) Nyhan was born in Co. Cork, circa 1855 and  was employed as a coachman by the Ryan family of Emly House.  He married  Catherine ( Kate ) Quinlan (1853-1912), a native of Clerkstown, Lattin, Co. Tipperary on the 10th Apr 1880 in Emly RC.  Kate died on the 13th Jan 1912 in Emly as did her husband Tim on the 21st Jan 1928.

Children born to them were as follows :

David  Nyhan, born Clerkstown 1881. Worked for Punch’s Tea Company in Cork City. Married Mary Ellen ( Ella ) Cronin in St Patrick's RC, Cork City on the 24th Apr 1920.

Thomas  Nyhan , born Clerkstown 1882. A private in the 1st Btn Irish Guards, Service No. 8158. Died from wounds received at the Battle of the Somme on the 26-9-1916. Commemorated at Grove Town cemetery, Meaulte, France.

Timothy  Nyhan, born Clerkstown 1884. Died Emly 1889.

Michael  Nyhan, born Clerkstown 1886. Died Emly 1911 of meningitis.

Mary Nyhan 1887-1968, was born in Clerkstown on the 20th May 1887. Marriage in Tipperary Town on the 2nd Jun1907 to English soldier, Sgt. Ernest James Hewett 1873 -1921 and emigrated to the UK. They did not have any family.  Mary remarried in 1923  in Redhill, Surrey to Henry ( Harry ) Wareham  1886 - 1955. They had five daughters, Moira Wareham 1923 - 2003, Maureen 1925  - 2002, Mary 1928 -2009, Teresa M F 1930 - 2022  &  Brigid 1937.  Mary Wareham, nee Nyhan 1887 -1968,  died in Sandhurst, Berks, UK on the 14th Sep 1968 and was interred in the cemetery of St. Michaels Church in Sandhurst. Her daughter, Teresa  M  F Wareham  1930 - 2022, married  Alick B  Smith  in 1951. She died on the 14th Dec 2022.

James  Nyhan, born Emly 1888. Married Catherine ( Kitty ) Carroll  (1887-1966), a daughter of Hospital, Co. Limerick shoemaker John Carroll & his wife Kate Carroll on the 20th Feb 1917 in Hospital RC. James died Emly 30th Jan 1952.

 Children born to them included :

1. Catherine ( Kitty ) Nyhan, born 1918. Married John Balfour in 1938 in England.

2.Mary ( MayNyhan, born 1919. 

3. John  Nyhan (1925- 1984), a bachelor.

4. Philomena ( Phil ) Nyhan (1930-2012), married Sologhead, Co. Tipperary native,  James ( Jimmy ) Cunningham (1931-2000). Both are interred in Emly's new cemetery, as is their daughter Siobhan.

Timothy  Nyhan  (1890-1958), born Emly.  Worked in the sugar beet factory in Thurles, Co. Tipperary. He married Mary Ellen  Cooke  in Thurles Cathedral on the 7th Feb 1917.

John (Jack)  Nyhan  (1892-1965), born  Emly. Joined the Garda Siochana and attained the rank of Sergeant. Married Agnes Fortune (1895-1976) in Fairview, Dublin in 1924. Retired in 1949. Children were Patsy, Una, Kitty & Tim.

Patrick  Nyhan  (1894-1941), born Emly.  Émigrated to the USA on the SS Campania from Cobh on the 25/8/1912. Address at the time of his death was 115 Summit St. Montgomery, Alabama. He was buried in Greenwood cemetery on the 1/5/1941.

Elizabeth  Nyhan  (1898-1913), born Emly. Death due to cardiac failure as a result of pneumonia.
