Michael Ryan 1881-1961, of this memorial, was born in Ballinamona, Hospital, Co. Limerick to parents Thomas Ryan 1833-1916, of this memorial and Eliza Scanlan 1845-1894.

Thomas Ryan 1833-1916, son of John Ryan, married Eliza Scanlan 1845-1894, daughter of Cornelius Scanlan of Lacka, Manister, Co. Limerick on Feb 9th 1864 in Manister RC. Eliza died in Ballinamona on May 12th 1894 due to tuberculosis.

Their son Michael Ryan 1881-1961, married Sarah Nolan 1900-1967, daughter of Thomas Nolan of Ballysimon, Co. Limerick on Feb 6ty 1929 in St Josephs RC, Limerick City.

Their son Michael Ryan 1841-1926, died in Ballinamona on Jun 6 1926 and was interred at this memorial on Tues 9th Jun. His obituary reads as follows :

Michael Ryan (Chairman) of Ballinamona, Hospital, Co. Limerick, peacefully on the 6th of June 2026, in his 85th year, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Mary (née Clifford, adored father of Susan (Harte), Michael, Patrick and Ann- Marie (Browne).

Dear brother of the late Patrick, Elizabeth, Mary and his twin brother Tom, survived by his sister Bernadette. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted family, grandchildren Mícheál, Aoife, John, Ciara, Isla, Oisín, Colm, Emily, Daithí, Anna and Grace, sons-in-law, Liam and Fergal, daughters-in-law Katie and Yvonne, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at O' Leary's Funeral Home, Hospital on Monday evening Jun 8th from 6pm to 8pm. Michael's funeral mass will take place on Tuesday in St. John the Baptist Church, Hospital at 11.30am with burial afterwards in St. Ailbe's Cemetery, Emly, Co. Tipperary (E3
