JAMES  MITCHELL,

ECCLESTICAL  STUDENT OF

ST. PATRICK’S  COLLEGE, THURLES,

DIED AT  THE PREMATURE  AGE  OF 

18  YEARS, DEC  21ST  1869.

 

HE  WAS ADORNED WITH THE SOLID VIRTUE

AND GIFTED WITH HIGH ORDER OF TALENT

SUCH AS TO ELICIT FROM THE PRESIDENT,

THE VERY MEMORABLE EXPRESSION THAT HE

WOULD, HAD HE LIVED TO MATURE AGE,

BE AN HONOUR TO HIS  NATIVE DIOCESE.

 

BUT THOSE THAT WHOM GOD LOVES, DIE YOUNG.

 

MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE, AMEN.

NB.  James Mitchell (1851-1869), died of typhoid fever.

His parents, Thomas Mitchell & Johanna Connery were married in Galbally R.C, Co. Limerick on the 7-2-1842.

James’s  siblings were Michael 1843, Mary 1844, Johanna 1846 & Thomas 1848.
