Thomas Carr was a widower when he died at Darnstown, Emlygrennan, Co.Limerick on the 18th Jan 1920. His wife Hanora, nee Upton had died two months earlier on the 10th Nov 1919.
The 1911 census for Darnstown recorded that nine children were still living out of a total of ten that were born to Thomas & Hanora Carr. They included Margaret Carr 1860-1925, (married Philip Blackburn of Ballycranna, Clonbeg, Co. Tipperary in 1883), Hanora Carr 1863-1942, (married John Patrick McGrath of Farranassa, Emly, Co. Tipperary in 1889), Wiliam 1864 -1925, John 1866, Mary 1868-1945, Thomas 1870-1938, Ellen 1872-1962, (married James Duhig of Uregare, Co. Limerick in 1896), Anne 1874, Alice 1877-1952, Kate 1880-1886.
Their son William Carr (1864-1925) died at Glenfield, Kilmallock, Co. Limerick. William married Mary Ellen O'Kelly (1872-1946) daughter of Patrick O'Kelly & Johanna Fitzgerald of Glenfield, Kilmallock, Co. Limerick on the 27th April 1898 in Fedamore RC, Co. Limerick. Children born to them were Josephine Carr 1899, Nora 1900, (married Denis McNamara in 1930) Mary 1902, Patrick 1903, Margaret 1904, Thomas 1906, Ellen 1907, (married Michael O'Donnell in 1938), John 1909, Anne 1911, William 1913 & Timothy 1918.
Mary Carr (1868-1945), daughter of Thomas Carr & Hanora Upton married Timothy O'Meara of Ballynaveen, Emly, Co. Tipperary on the 25th Feb 1892 in Ballinvana RC, Co. Limerick. See memorial 0146 for details.
Her sister Alice Carr (1877-1952) married Patrick Cronin, son of John Cronin in St Josephs RC, Limerick City on the 29th Jan 1910. They were living in Assolas, Kanturk, Co. Cork in the 1911 census. Children born to them included John Cronin 1913 & Thomas 1915.
Eileen Carr , nee Frawley (1910-1975), daughter of shopkeeper Daniel Frawley & Helena O'Grady of Abbeyview, Rathkeale, Co. Limerick married commercial traveller Thomas J Carr (1906-1990), son of William Carr (1864-1925) & Mary Ellen O'Kelly (1872-1946) in Rathkeale RC, Co. Limerick on the 20th Sep 1938. Children born to them included Helena M Carr 1940, Ann C 1943, Margaret M 1944, William G 1945, Thomas J 1947-1947 (side of stone) & Thomas 1949.
