Annie Mary was a cousin of her husband, George Thomas Appelbe.  Annie's parents were Alexander Appelbe who married Anne Marlow.  She was born on 5th August 1832 in Secunderabad, Tamil Nadu, India where her father Alexander was serving with the 62 foot regiment.  Anne Marlow was the third wife of Alexander.  Annie Mary and George Thomas Appelbe were married at Christ Church Kilbrogan on 27th November 1851.  They had five children,

1)Edward Alexander, born in Bandon in 1853, became physician and surgeon and married Alice Cowper.  He died June 1911 in Winchester in the UK

2)Sarah Isabella born Bandon 9th April 1854 and who died in 1878 at Mitchelstown, Co Cork.  She married Denis Rice Wade

3)  Anna born 2nd March 1856 Bandon and died 2nd February 1895 in Bandon

4)  George Thomas, born 17th May 1857 Bandon and died 3rd April 1859 Bandon.

5)  Isabella Mary, born 4th December 1859 in bandon and died 10th October 1883 in Bandon
