George Bennett's father, Joseph, was a pawn broker who lived for a time at 12 Castle Street, Bandon.  He had a number of leasehold interests on North Main Street, Bandon.  His son George married Catherine Anne Scott Harrison in 1853.  Their first child Joseph William was born on 21st April 1855 on North Main Street.  He later emigrated to Oregon with his father and erected this memorial stone in 1912.  George's son George Augustine was born on 22nd July 1856, Alfred Constantine was born on 22nd August 1857 and their only daughter, Victoria Mary Catherine was born on 24th July 1860 and died on 22nd April 1861.  She is buried in this vault.

George emigrated to Oregon with Joseph William and George Augustine leaving his wife Catherine (Kate) Scott Bennett (formerly Harrison) behind with one son, Alfred Constantine.  Kate died in Bandon on 12th August 1904 and is buried in this vault.  She lived latterly on North Main Street.
