Died at Port Charles Jamaica Novr 18th

Of yellow fever caught in the zealous discharge

Of his duty as Adjutant

Sincerely loved respected and mourned

By his comrades of all ranks to whom

during his honourable, tho short career

He had become endeared by his many

Amiable and noble qualities.

Fondly beloved and deeply mourned

By his bereaved family in whose hearts

he will ever live.

 

Thanking God upon every rememberence of him

They sorrow not as those who have no hope

But look forward with sure and certain trust

To his glorious resurrection amongst

The dead in Christ
