Relatives of Fr Richard Reynolds born in Dublin who entered the Irish College in Rome in 1721 and around 1740 was selected by King James 11 as religious tutor to his son, Charles Edward.

On his return Chaplin and then P.P. of Townsend Street Church for 50 years until his death in 1781. Source: F.L. Gargan - "The Parish of Ardcath Clonalvy: A History"

(James 11 most probably did not have time to pay his respects to the Reynolds family on his way back from the Battle of the Boyne!!)
