This stone was erected
in memory of the late
Rev. NICHOLAS PURFIELD,
Vicar-General of the diocese of Meath
And Parish Priest of Ardcath
who departed this life
the 16th day of October
in the Year of our Lord 1795
and in the 65th year of his age.
Requiescat in pace.
Stone damaged beyond repair. The location of the fragments is next to the original grave site and only laid out here to try and reinstate however several pieces appear to have disappeared.Unfortunatally lost forever. (Family Crest is same / similar to Purfield memorial in Duleek)
Writing type not accurate at present - Looking for a good photograph of same and will adjust.
