Thomas - Ardcath Register of Interments records his occupation was a farmer. He was a strong soccer supporter and set out a field on the opposite side of the road from his residence as a soccer field and a team called (The Newtown Blues?)

Una's death notice gives the following information:  "..Predeceased by her husband Tom.  Una; wonderful mother to Paul, Janette and Terence.  Sadly missed by her family, daughter-in-law Bridie, her sisters Bridie, Marie and Margaret, brothers Willie and John, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends"

This farm and house was originally Gargans of the Newtown and was the site of the 1st meeting of Ardcath ICA on March 12th 1948 hosted by Mrs M Gargan, President.
