This is a very well maintianed cemetery. The ruined church has been conserved. Jim Higgins has published the results of an excavation and conservation programme he undertook which was funded by FAS and Galway City Council. The publication 'Excavations at St James's Church and Cemetery' conatins along with the results of an excavatoion undertaken at the church a full history of the site along with a fascinating and extensive overview of the people buried in the cemetery. A plan of the church and cemetery was also produced and a full llist of the memorial inscriptions was recorded.
