The rectangular graveyard (CO071-108002-) is located within an early ecclesiastical enclosure. The enclosure measures c. 210 m NS by 280 m EW and is bisected by the modern road. There is no surface trace of the site of the ancient parish church of Cannaway, which was in ruins by 1639. A C of I parish church was located in the NW corner of the graveyard. It was built in 1814 and was in ruins by 1900. A small pile of rubble remains at the site of the church.
