In the 1911 Census  Daniel Mahony, a farmer, is recorded as head of the family in Mahallagh, Cannaway. He had three sons, Denis, Cornelius and Jeremiah, and also three daughters, Ellen, Margaret and Bridget. 

In the 1901 Census, another son, Florence, is included.
